Dr. Shisila (Dr. Dave) specializes in, and is board certified in Pediatrics. He is happily accepting new patients at our offices in Bainbridge and Broadview Heights. He has refer and follow privileges at UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and Ahuja Hospital.
Raising a child is complicated. If each child could come with a manual, it would make parenting much easier (although much less exciting). Every child is unique and no two manuals would ever be the same. To complicate things further, there is rarely only one right way to do things. Whether it is treating your child’s illness, or helping manage their behavior, there are going to be multiple “right” ways to proceed that will be unique to your individual child. My job is to educate parents on the different options and allow them to decide what they feel is best for their child. And it is very satisfying to see parents, over time, gain confidence in their abilities as the “play-caller”.
Dr. Shisila was born and raised in the Cleveland area, graduating from West Geauga High School in 1998. After being away for 2 decades, He was happy to return to Cleveland, his original home. Dr. Shisila and his wife are kept busy with their three children, who keep them on their toes. He loves all outdoor activities, whether in snow or sunshine, and spends time cheering on the Buckeyes, Browns, and Indians.
Dr. Shisila received his undergraduate training from Miami University. There his education focus was on microbiology and European area studies, which included time living and studying in Luxembourg. He received his medical degree in 2006 from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health, which was followed by residency training at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Upon completion of residency in 2009, he stayed in the Columbus area and worked in a private practice office for almost 10 years. He joined Pediatricenter in December of 2018.
